The FAME Idol’s were introduced this year to help both new athletes to qualify to compete along with experienced athletes the chance to qualify for our Advanced, Elite or even Pro categories based on their experience level and audition.

The day starts with the audition process, where athletes come together to audition in front of a panel of judges. The athlete can show their physique in a posing suit or outfit of their choice as well as demonstrate their strength, flexibility, stage presence and creative abilities. Athletes can use this outlet to also showcase their routine and receive feedback from the judges on areas of strength along with areas of improvement.

After the Audition is complete, those athletes can also join in on a FAME Camp held right after. Judges may recommend those that come through the audition to also complete the FAME Camp to better educate themselves on the process of competition. However, an athlete can choose to sign up just for the FAME Camp alone.

Whether you aim to complete the entire day (audition and camp) or whether you want to do the audition only or FAME Camp only - the options are endless.

FAME Pro Fitness Model Karen Riedel-Gallagher has been busy lately with her personal training business but also developing her own website.  Karen is a personal trainer, holistic nutritionist, spinner instructor and a WNSO judge.  Her new website offers many services and a chance to read more about her and her clients.

If you had the chance to come to FAME East in Montreal a few weeks ago you would have had the pleasure to watch a special guest appearance by FAME Pro Larry Vinette.  Larry engaged the audience with a spectacular posing routine and even ran up and down the aisles showcasing his physique.

This is not the only place Larry is showing off his physique, he also appears in the Summer 2008 issue of REPS! Magazine.  His article features a forearm workout - check it out!

This weekend the FAME Crew attended the FAME Prairies event hosted by Derrick Brown in Calgary, Alberta. Not only was the theatre sold out we maxed out capacity with standing room. Attendees piled into the theatre taking up all the seats, aisles, standing at the back of the theatre and in the doorways. With a record breaking 218 athletes competing in one day, it was the first regional event to set such an amazing record.

Next up for Calgary is the FAME Canadian National Championships at the Calgary Telus Convention Centre on October 18th! Be sure to register because this event will contain Level 2, 3 and Pro Level shows. If FAME Prairies had 218 athletes, you can bet that that the Calgary residents will be flocking to the FAME Canadian Nationals. Tickets will be available online very shortly.

Just a few weeks ago FAME was represented in the New York Times and now in the Chicago Tribune.  The article featuring none other than FAME Master Pro Scott Hults is now going NATIONAL!  So expect to see the story in a newspaper near you.

Yet another successful event in Montreal, QC.  This show was amazing - not only did we get 95 athletes the entire theatre (both lower and balcony) was packed with people waiting to watch the fantastic physiques on stage.  Stephane Laporte emceed the event with his comedic talent and FAME Pro Larry Vinette guest posed and incorporated the audience by running through the theatre posing on the seats.  New FAME Pros were added to the roster and more people advanced onto Level 3 status which qualifies them for the FAME World Championships in June.
