FAME competitor Victoria Parsley shares her story:
My sister and I competed in our first FAME competition at the Ocean Bloom Classic held April 14, 2007. It was our first competition ever and we placed 2nd and 3rd in the Fitness Model Masters category. Our local newspaper showed interest in our story and printed an entire page in the sports section on our Road to FAME. I thought I would share the story.
It is a well written article on the importance nutrition plays in not only getting competition ready but also as a way of life. The story has really struck a nerve around our small town. We have been bombarded with questions from people on how they too can achieve the level we have. People realize that growing older doesn’t mean having to live a sedentary life – quite the opposite really. In such a small town it’s very difficult to find anyone who knows what to eat and when to eat it and I guess Caddy and I are becoming living examples – thanks to FAME for giving us the motivation to change. It’s never too late for change.
The reporter did get a little confused near the end of the story when he wrote about us competeting against 18 and 20 year olds I think he was talking about the fitness model open category at Ocean’s event as we competeted in that as well.
